Manufacturing SOP – Step-by-Step Process

Step 1: Preparation & Hygiene

  • Sanitize all equipment, containers, stirrers, and work surfaces
  • Wear gloves, mask, and hair cover
  • Use calibrated weighing scales

Step 2: Phase A – Water Base

  1. Add Purified Water to the main mixing vessel
  2. Begin slow stirring (300–500 RPM)
  3. Add Disodium EDTA and mix until dissolved
  4. Add Glycerin and Propanediol, mix until uniform

Step 3: Thickener Hydration

  1. Slowly sprinkle Hydroxyethylcellulose or Xanthan Gum into Phase A
  2. Continue stirring until fully hydrated
  3. Allow resting for 20–30 minutes for full gel formation

Note: It Can be used Xanthan Gum (Most Common Alternative)

Step 4: Phase B – Actives Addition

  1. Add Niacinamide slowly and mix until completely dissolved
  2. Add Panthenol, Sodium PCA, and Allantoin
  3. Stir gently to avoid aeration

Step 5: Preservation

  1. Add Phenoxyethanol & Ethylhexylglycerin
  2. Mix for 10 minutes to ensure even distribution

Step 6: pH Adjustment

  1. Check pH using a calibrated pH meter
  2. Adjust to 5.5–6.0 using Citric Acid solution
  3. Mix and recheck pH

Step 7: Final Homogenization

  • Stir at low speed for 10–15 minutes
  • Ensure clear, uniform appearance without bubbles

Step 8: Filling & Packaging

  • Fill into sterilized toner bottles
  • Prefer PET or glass bottles with flip-top or spray pump
  • Label with batch number, manufacturing date, and expiry
